Reliable Hardware for Artificial Intelligence: EMKO IPCs Are Helping at a Brno Hospital and in the Museum Sector
Our company, EMKO IPC, is proud to contribute to the modernization and improvement of services in the Czech healthcare system through our technologies. The most recent example is the successful installation of a digital assistant powered by artificial intelligence at the University Hospital Brno - Children's Hospital. The newspaper České noviny also recently reported on this groundbreaking project.

Meet Florence: A Virtual Assistant for Patients
Finding one’s way around large hospital campuses is often stressful and challenging for visitors coming from afar. That’s why, in the bustling Teyschl Hall, right next to the central patient registration desk, a digital assistant-an interactive screen featuring a human avatar-is now helping visitors navigate the facility. The female avatar, symbolically named Florence in honor of the famous nurse Florence Nightingale, offers visitors a wide range of features:
🔸 Interactive navigation: Displays a map and provides precise directions to a specific clinic or department.
🔸 Smartphone integration: Generates a QR code that visitors can easily scan to save the route directly to their phone.
🔸 Practical information: Provides guidance on services near the hospital, such as ATMs or current public transportation schedules.
Our technology partner, aReception, is responsible for developing the software solution and artificial intelligence. The goal of the digital assistant is not to replace human staff, but to become a helpful partner that handles routine inquiries, thereby saving hospital employees valuable time.

Reliable hardware from EMKO IPC as the foundation for success
Deploying artificial intelligence in such a high-profile public space requires absolutely flawless operation. To ensure that the interactive avatar responds smoothly, listens to questions, and that the system runs continuously without outages, a highly stable and resilient foundation is essential.
This is where our expertise truly comes into play. To ensure that aReception’s sophisticated software functions reliably, EMKO IPC provides a key hardware solution that:
🔸 Ensures uninterrupted operation even under heavy load in a busy hospital lobby.
🔸 Provides sufficient computing power for fast data processing, response generation, and seamless AI operation.
🔸 Features a robust, sleekly designed panel that is safe and built to withstand heavy foot traffic.
How We Brought Karel Absolon to Life Using Artificial Intelligence
At the Moravian Museum (MZM) in Brno’s Dietrichstein Palace, a project has been launched that pushes the boundaries of how we perceive history. The client was looking for a way to make the permanent exhibition-a faithful replica of Prof. Karel Absolon’s study-more appealing to modern visitors and younger generations. The result is an interactive AI avatar of this prominent Moravian researcher and speleologist, known for his role in the discovery of the Venus of Věstonice.
The goal was to modernize the Karel Absolon Memorial and offer visitors the opportunity to have a “personal” conversation. This project showcases the future of museology by combining history with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technologies. We at EMKO IPC contributed to this innovative project by providing a complete turnkey hardware solution and its integration.
A combination of advanced software and reliable hardware
The project’s technology partner, aReception, developed an advanced digital avatar based on large language models (LLMs). The model draws its knowledge primarily from the scholarly publication „Karel Absolon-Explorer, Manager, Scientist“.
However, for this sophisticated software to function seamlessly and appear realistic within the museum’s physical space, it required a clean, robust, and reliable hardware setup.
Our EMKO IPC hardware solution includes the following components:
🔸i5 CPU
🔸1258GB storage
🔸8GB RAM
🔸27-inch display
The hardware we supplied had to be capable of continuous operation, high-quality audio capture in a museum environment, and smooth audiovisual playback of the generated responses.

Great feedback from the public and the media
The installation became an instant hit and attracted considerable attention from the public and the media. Czech Radio Brno and the Czech Television news program *Události v regionech* (Regional News) both covered the project. Czech Radio Brno even noted that the “brought-to-life” discoverer of the Venus of Věstonice offers a glimpse of what modern museum exhibits might look like in the future.
We also received detailed feedback from our primary target audience-high school students. Their evaluations revealed what works exceptionally well:
🔸Authenticity and visuals: The avatar is visually precise. The black-and-white animation on the display faithfully recreates the historical appearance of the Master.
🔸Top-notch audio: The Avatar speaks clearly, intelligibly, and loudly. The hardware audio output we provided (speakers and acoustics) is properly sized and works great even in the museum room’s acoustics.
🔸Educational value: Students were thrilled by the detailed and factually accurate answers, such as those regarding the photographic documentation of the research. The exhibition thus undoubtedly fulfills its primary educational purpose.
In Conclusion
Whether it’s guiding patients through the Children’s Hospital or providing an immersive educational experience at the Moravian Museum, both case studies have one thing in common: the innovative AI software from our partner, aReception, relies entirely on absolutely reliable hardware.
The excellent feedback from the public and the media, along with the museum management’s plans to further expand the technology, clearly confirm that the combination of smart software and stable hardware from EMKO IPC guarantees success.
At EMKO IPC, we’re ready to provide this solid foundation for you as well. Whether you’re developing solutions for healthcare, industry, or the public sector, we’d be happy to design industrial PCs and hardware infrastructure tailored precisely to your needs.
