How a Custom PC Is Built

Industrial automation, edge computing, or critical infrastructure control require hardware you can rely on 100%. Standard "off-the-shelf" solutions often fall short—whether due to specific dimensions, the need for specialized ports, or extreme operating conditions.

That is why at EMKO IPC, we build industrial PCs precisely tailored to your needs. Thanks to close cooperation with our parent company, EMKO Case—which specializes in the custom manufacturing of durable sheet metal chassis and enclosures for IPCs—we have full control over every detail. What does our manufacturing process look like in practice?

Specification of Requirements and INQUIRY

Every successful B2B project begins with a thorough understanding of your goals. The initial phase is therefore a detailed INQUIRY. During this stage, our specialists will consult with you on the key parameters:

  • What computing power and components (CPU, RAM, storage) does the system require?
  • In what environment will the computer operate (dust levels, extreme temperatures, humidity, vibrations)?
  • What are the connectivity and power supply requirements?

Solution Proposal and DEVELOPMENT

Once we know your requirements, we move into the DEVELOPMENT phase. Our engineers design the optimal hardware architecture. This is the moment where our massive competitive advantage fully comes into play.

If the project requires non-standard dimensions or specific mounting options, we join forces with our sister division focused on custom manufacturing. Together, we develop a tailored sheet metal chassis (computer case) that guarantees not only physical durability but also perfect heat dissipation for passively cooled systems (fanless PCs).

Assembly and PRODUCTION

The approved prototype or design then transitions into the PRODUCTION phase. The assembly of industrial computers takes place with maximum emphasis on precision and quality (ESD protection, careful cable management, and checking the mounting of all components against vibrations). Because we manufacture the cases and mechanical parts ourselves within our group, we minimize the risk of delays from subcontractors and are able to respond flexibly to modifications during production.

Stress Testing and SHIPPING

Before any industrial computer leaves our facility, it must undergo rigorous stress tests (so-called burn-in tests). We verify system stability under maximum load to ensure that it will not fail in your operation.

Only after successfully passing all quality checks does the final SHIPPING follow. We pack the industrial computers securely and dispatch them directly to you, fully prepared for immediate deployment into live operation.
